The RTHM-170 Alignment rotary stage provides arc-second resolution when driven from a micro-stepping or DC motor controller. The low profile design is made possible by the use of compact precision bearings. The rotating carriage of the stage provides limited rotation of load up to 50 kg and has large clear aperture to allow the passage of the optical path or cables directly through the stage. The main body of the stage is made from lightweight anodized aluminum and can attach directly to an optical table or moving linear or XY actuators and can be mounted at any orientation.

Unlike worm drive trains that can wear prematurely and develop backlash, RTHM-170 unique tangential drive system uses a precision grade ball screw to ensure high stage durability and long life. The low friction of a ball screw drive delivers zero backlash, ensuring quality performance for millions of cycles.  Lightweight stage design makes it easy to  incorporate this rotary stage into high dynamics XY-Theta alignment stages. Stage can be manually positioned to perform motorized alignment rotation at any location over 360â—¦
