The ACRYLINE Acrylic Dye LASERS from Elk Industries, LLC are the only commercially available Solid-State Dye LASERS "on the Market".
Essentially, they are a type of "LASER Pumped LASERS", with Pumping LASERS which must have a "Short Pulse" (< 10 nanoSeconds per Pulse). These can be Frequency-Doubled Nd:YAG (Short Pulse) or Nitrogen LASERS of sufficient Pulse Energy to exite the Dye Materials. The Input Wavelength must be less than 540 nm, Typically, so 532 nm ("Doubled") Nd:YAG or 347 nm (Ruby Frequency Doubled), Nitrogen @ 337 nm, Nd:YVO4
(Doubled) Short-Pulse LASERS will be good Pump Sources.
The Acyrline Solid Dye LASER "Converts" these (shorter) Wavelength Pump LASER into Longer Wavelength (Optionally Tunable) LASER Outputs, from 400 - 670 nm (a Longer Wavelength), depending on the (Solid) Dye Disc selected and the Pump LASER Radiation Wavelength, as well as some additional factors. Also, Liquid Dye Cells are Optional, and serve to Aid the User in Alignment of the Acryline Dye LASER, however, the MODEL 90 Dye LASER from Elk Industries can be purchased as (Either) a Solid-State or Liquid Dye LASER.
